This life is full of surprises and there are so many natural phenomena happening around us that we
cannot even begin to count all these occurrences. While many natural phenomena are very easy to
understand and require us to simply observe things a little closer than we usually do, there are some
that are really difficult to fathom.
For instance, some of these natural phenomena are so complicated that we have the HCI system
which is basically a system that creates a phenomena which as a consequence helps us understand
the what and why of a particular phenomena.
Hi and welcome to yet another amazing video on Mind Read. Our journey is never complete without
our amazing subscribers. Today, we are going to look at a few of the natural phenomena that are
simply incredible.
While the Northern Lights are a sight to behold, this is not the only spectacular phenomena our
planet has on offer.
From flaming fires that have been going on for decades to natural landscaping that would put man-
made structures to shame to the ability of birds to fly in such a way that they end up covering the
sun, we have gathered some really spectacular natural phenomena that have been blowing
humanity away for a several centuries.
If you like the video, share it, post a comment and let us know if there is a particular phenomena
that we missed out on.
So let’s begin!
10. Sort sol, Denmark
Denmark is perhaps one of the most beautiful countries you would ever come across. The
Southwestern marshlands are quite a sight and tourist flock around it during the months of March
and April.
So why is it that there’s so much talk about Denmark during these months? Well, this is the time of
“sort sol” or in Danish, the black sun. this is a time when around ONE MILLIONNNNNN birds flock to
the skies during sunset. Such are the numbers that the sun is actually blocked.
For us mortals or those who love photography, this is perhaps the closest we would ever get to
reenacting those scary scenes from Hitchcock’s The Birds. However, this version would be simply
majestic and not scary at all….as long as you don’t have a fear of birds.

9. Catatumbo Lightning, Venezeuela
While people would have told you that lightning strikes, they’ve never been to Venezuela have they?
In the South American country, there is this incredible phenomena known as the Beacon of
Maracaibo. But mostly, people call it Catatumbo lightning.
This is a sight to behold and is indeed everlasting.
So where exactly does this happen? Well, the point where Catatumbo River meets Lake Maracaibo,
there is an average of 260 stormy days every year. This is the place where the night sky is illuminated
pretty much all the time. If you go there, you’d see a thousand flashes lighting up the skies.
While January and February are periods of relative calm, October is when you would be able to see
around 28 lightning flashes per minute which is pretty incredible.

8. Moonbow, Zimbabwe
You heard that right! This is not a typo on the script or me not being able to read it right. While
rainbows are really cute and one day we may even end up finding a leprechaun awaiting us with a
pot of gold, it is the moonbow phenomena that really amazes everyone who sees it for the first time.
The Victoria Falls rainforest re-opens every full moon so that people could witness the magic of the
lunar rainbow. However, if you were thinking that the scientific explanation behind this moonbow
phenomena is a unique one, that is not the case.
The only difference is that the lunar rainbows are fainter because the amount of light reflected from
the surface of the moon is much lower than that of the sun.
Moreover, it is very difficult for us to discern the colors in a moonbow so our eye cone color
receptors miss out what must be an amazing amalgamation of colors.
7. Moving rock, USA
When you hear about Death Valley what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Noooo….not
that!
Yes Death Valley has definitely made itself known thanks to wrestling legend, The Undertaker (insert
his ominous music intro here)
As one of the least inhabited places on the planet
