How To Make A Smocked Mini Dress With Pockets. Today I'm using the original Betty dress sewing pattern to create a different, shorter dress! I'm trying out smocking again and seeing what it is like to use a machine to sew the pleats in place instead of hand stitching. The result is a fun, relaxed look! I'm using a light denim fabric from Joann's and the Betty pattern from my shop.
