This animation illustrates dynamic patterns typical of the traditions of Indian temple architecture. It shows the developing Nagara tradition of northern India, where successions of increasingly complex forms are created, each extrapolated from earlier, simpler ones. Individual express the dynamic process by which they came about, reflecting ideas about the birth and evolution of the universe. The multimedia display was made in 2010 for 'India: the Art of the Temple', an exhibition of Indian art from the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
