When you think of Thailand, you may think of its capital, Bangkok, but this country has some of the most stunning natural beauty and abundant wildlife in the world! I traveled through Thailand for 3 1/2 weeks and was fortunate to have seen so much incredible scenery and a wide variety of animal species. We start in Maya Bay, made famous in the 2000 Leonardo DiCaprio movie, The Beach. This is one of the most beautiful bays in the world! Next, we explore more of the Phi Phi Islands and its gorgeous aquamarine waters, and kayak through sea caves. We land on James Bond Island, where they filmed The Man with the Golden Gun, and we can see its towering limestone formations. A boat takes us around Cheow Lan Lake, which is perhaps the most beautiful lake in Thailand. We then visit two national parks, Khao Sok and Khao Yai. In Khao Sok, we see a tarantula, Golden Oak Spider, Viper, monkeys, and a red lizard, and in Khao Yai, we see an owl, viper, monkeys, waterfall, great hornbills, howling white gibbon, samba deer, and a civet cat. In the Similan Islands, we experience the stunning turquoise waters and rock formations, then go snorkeling in one of the best snorkeling spots in Thailand. We then visit the Surin Islands with its aquamarine waters and go snorkeling in what is perhaps THE best snorkeling spot in Thailand. We end up in Kata Beach, Phuket, featuring its beautiful beach, and then snorkel 20 minutes south in Ao Sane Beach, where you will see some of the craziest looking jellyfish around. This is a journey I will never forget!
