If you are having unprotected intercourse, there's always a chance you can get pregnant but your chances of getting pregnant are even higher if intercourse is timed with ovulation. You're most fertile on six days out of the month; five days leading up to the day of ovulation and on the day of ovulation. So you mentioned that you had intercourse the day before you were supposed to ovulate and there's a high chance that you could get pregnant, especially if you weren't using any forms of contraception. Wait until your next period is supposed to begin and if it never comes, take an over-the-counter pregnancy test and if it's positive, congratulations! If it's negative and you still don't start a period within 4-5 days from that time, then take another one. If it's still negative, then talk to your doctor about it and they can decide if further investigation or treatment is warranted if you continue to have irregular cycles.
