STORYLINE:
Demonstrations continued across Nepal on Tuesday, after nearly two weeks of unrest in the Himalayan kingdom.
In the town of Koteshwar hundreds of women marched in solidarity with the nationwide protests, which have seen thousands of Nepalis take to the streets.
Over the last 13 days thousands of protesters in the capital, Katmandu have clashed with Nepalis security forces who have beat, tear gassed and shot at the protesters with rubber bullets in an attempt to quell the unrest.
Five protesters have been fatally shot during the unrest and in New Baneshwar people, mainly students and young people have been queuing up to give blood to help the injured.
"I am giving blood to the victims" one blood donor told AP Television.
Meanwhile, as supplies of basic commodities starts to run low, armoured military vehicles on Tuesday escorted a convoy of trucks and buses carrying the first supplies and passengers to head for Katmandu after nearly two weeks.
Earlier on Monday protesters had tried to halt a similar convoy that was heading to the capital Katmandu, but soldiers opened fire, wounding at least five people.
An army statement said the action was necessary because the mob had tried to torch fuel trucks and attack bus passengers.
The trucks were hauling badly needed salt, bananas, potatoes and onions, as well as kerosene for cooking and petrol for vehicles.
Gyanendra seized power in February 2005, saying he needed control to restore political order and crush a communist insurgency that has left nearly 13-thousand people dead in the past decade.
