Sometimes the stars aline just so, and the heavens open up and deliver. That’s what this late winter/early spring has felt like to the mountain community. Snow has continued to fall late into the season, blessing us with face shots and snow caked high fives through March and into April.

We were invited by Cariboo Brewing to attend a demo put on by The Truth Boardshop at Sasquatch Mountain Resort (formerly Hemlock - or still Hemlock to the hardcore locs) on March 25. It’s been a while since we made it out that way, almost enough time to forget how much fun this mountain can be. Everything lined up for us; cold weather and snow late in march has kept the base solid and loaded some really fun zones with some late season pow. Combine that with the almost foot of snow that fell over the course of the day, and an entire side of the mountain that has been untouched for weeks due to a broken lift… The one lift was still broken so a short hike scored us one of the best party pow laps of the year.

The other cameras went away earlier in the day because of flat light, but Sev still had one GoPro on him to capture this lap. 3 friends shredding wide open pow, this is why we do this, this is why we continue chasing that fleeting, elusive feeling. 2 minutes of zen to refill the souls.
