Police clash with crowds of BLM protestors in Portland

Protesters gathered outside Portland mayor Ted Wheeler's apartment on Monday night, setting off fireworks, starting a fire in the street, and chanting 'happy tear gas to you' on his 58th birthday. Police arrived around 11pm and declared the scene a riot, before charging the crowd when they refused to disperse. Several people were filmed being arrested, though it is unclear how many were arrested in total. Monday night marks the 95th straight day of disturbances in Portland, which began after the killing of George Floyd during his arrest in Minneapolis, and dramatically escalated overnight Saturday when protester Aaron 'Jay' Bishop, 39, was shot dead in the city.
