Over the past week, more than 100 flights in India have received hoax bomb threats, with 14 reported today alone. Six of these were Indigo flights. The threats, mostly delivered via social media and emails, have targeted several Indian carriers including Air India, Indigo, Akasa Air, Vistara, Spicejet, Star Air and Alliance Air. The Government of India has responded by holding meetings with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and airline CEOs, suspending and deactivating social media handles issuing threats, and arresting several suspects.
