Bio:
Dr. Morris received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed a psychiatry residency at Stanford, where he was a Chief Resident in Psychiatry. After residency, Dr. Morris completed a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at UCSF. He is currently an Attending Psychiatrist for the San Francisco Jail Behavioral Health Service, where he provides care for incarcerated patients in the San Francisco jail system, and he is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. His academic interests include psychiatry and the law, mental health care in jails and prisons, and the criminalization of people with mental disorders and substance use disorders. He has published approximately 50 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. In addition, his writing has been featured in a number of media outlets, including the New York Times, Scientific American, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post.
