Mingle Media TV and Red Carpet Report host, Kallie Kerns, were invited to come out and cover The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 39th Student Academy Awards at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, CA. Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal awards were presented to student filmmakers in the following categories: Alternative, Animation, Narrative, Documentary and Foreign Student Film.

The Academy established the Student Academy Awards in 1972 to support and encourage excellence in filmmaking at the collegiate level.
