The so-called "waiting time problem" is one creationist attempt to provide a limiting mechanism for evolutionary processes, in an attempt to demonstrate that evolution can't be responsible for extant biodiversity.

Unfortunately, in making their argument, creationists reveal that they either misunderstand or misrepresent important aspects of evolutionary theory, and often ignore the peer-reviewed literature, preferring instead to just...make up numbers.
