MY TAKEAWAY: Listen, folks...I can take a lot; however, several times this film stunned me into silence. But in these times where women's rights are under fire - our autonomy and our ability to choose - Not since Rosemary's Baby or Stepford Wives have I ever had a film make me feel SO paranoid about being a woman. What I will say is that Nell Tiger Free is a force of nature. Her physical acting, her commitment to the intent behind THE SCENE left me in awe. I need more from her ASAP. 10/10 for the production design of this film, as well as the score - they could have leaned a little more into the 70's aesthetic, but honestly the performances helped alleviate that failure. That being said, I hope to NEVER watch this again - which is to say this film succeeded to sufficiently creep me the f*ck out.
