What is your color palette? How do you store your gouache? How do you keep your gouache moist? What kind of brushes do you use? These are some of the questions I get asked almost every day. You might notice that I am repainting the same areas of the painting over and over. That’s the way I work. I constantly adjust and readjust things in order to get the impression I am looking for, the right effect. Working in the studio I never paint solely from a photographer. In most cases, I use a photo only as a reference for the shapes, but I take colors from the memory (using my “plein air” experience) or from small simple sketches done from life.
