Without your contribution we couldn't make this film.

Intially, we set out to fund this project entirely through our own means. However, as the scope of the film grew and more and more great ideas were incorporated, we realised that the money that we had at our disposal was not going to be enough to fullfil the creative potential of the project.

Indiegogo is our last option to secure this final funding and without your help this film cannot be realised in the way that we envision it. But we still want to run a tight ship! And so, after much discussion between each department (and many compromises) we have come to the desicion that $3,000 is the absolute minimum we require in order to make this short film. This is a fraction of what we as a group are putting into the film.

WHY DO WE NEED ALL OF THIS?

Something we realised when we were writing this film was how captivating it was to explore the warped reality that could exist within the mind of an Alzhiemers suffer: A reality where the past and present can be mixed into one. Chris' reality in his Elderly infirmity is twisted; he hears and sees his younger self running through the halls of the family home; his living room transforms into a beach in years past - he chases the ghosts of the past as he watches himself re-experiance his life. Visuals are integral to telling this story. The natural beauty we hope to capture and the surreal world we intend to build within it require expensive equipment and production design.

The blurred, surreal reality has become a fundemental element of the story and in order to create this surreal world we will require very specific camera equipment:

Steadycam will allow us to create a free-moving camera that floats behind the action as though a godlike ethereal observer. This will represent Chris's own viewpoint: a man watching his own life unfold.

Anamorphic Lenses will allow us to compose within both the width of the frame and depth; the wide-angle nature of these lenses will allow us - both close up and at a distance - to create a distorted, surreal perspective: a visual representation of Chris' warped view of the world.

The Arri Alexa (4:3) is built for Anamorphic photography and captures the most filmic, natural image possible from any digital camera currently available. It is ideal for the style and tone of the film.

Underwater photography will be employed to create an ethereal, almost balletic dance between Teenage Chris and Lucy as they dive into the churning water together - and into love.
