In 2021, trading stocks is more convenient than ever. With technology, computers, smartphones, and 5G, it’s easier to keep a day job while learning how to trade on the side.

Now, let’s look at some quick definitions … For one, what defines a day trader?

Day traders are in and out of trades within the same day. It can be mere minutes or hours. These traders try to capitalize on momentum … But they’re not holding long term.

This is key: Day trading and investing are NOT the same thing.

Now, what about hours? Listed stocks start trading in premarket from 4 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Eastern, then the market opens. From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. is regular market hours — the best time for trading. After hours runs from 4 p.m. to 8:00 p.m Eastern.

Don’t press your luck with trading premarket OR after hours. It’s risky for several reasons.

Now, if you have a small account, which many new traders do … you’ll be under the pattern day trader (PDT) rule. The PDT says you can only go in and out of the same stock in one day, three times in a rolling five-day period.

Don’t let the PDT discourage your day trading drive! Bohen has tips and techniques to help you cope.

Plus, he dives into more essentials like float, technical indicators, hot sectors, volatility, and more.

Tune in as Bohen explains each and why this knowledge is so important for day traders…

And check back for our next episode. We’ll dive into the nitty-gritty of how to find a good stock to trade!
