Do you remember waiting for Christmas presents growing up? Christmas is season that is full of waiting. We wait for the day to arrive, wait for parties, we wait for presents to be opened and good food to be made, and we wait for family and friends to visit!
And for most of us, even as adults, we can weather this type of waiting and still be excited. But there are some things in life that the longer we wait the darker it becomes and the more hopeless we feel. And in those heavier moment we can struggle with how to wait in the darkness without growing hopeless?
In this message, we’ll examine a character in the Christmas story that is often overlooked but he knew how to wait well, how to wait without growing hopeless, and develop a faith in the waiting that was resilient, full of joy, and contentment. Regardless of what life throws at us, we can build faith like that too!
