Joey King Shares 'CUTE' Anniversary Tradition & Talks Bringing 'Uglies' To Life

Bringing "Uglies" to life as a feature film has been a longtime dream of Joey King's! She and Brianne Tju, who both star in the forthcoming science fiction film, spoke about how they first connected with the book series it's based on and shared their excitement to be a part of the adaptation. Joey and Brianne also dished on filming action sequences and bonding with their co-stars – and revealed the NSFW name of their cast group chat! Plus, Joey reflected on going bowling to commemorate one year since she legally wed her husband Steven Piet at a courthouse in the U.S. ahead of their official wedding ceremony in Spain. "When we got married and had our court wedding like a year ago, we went bowling with my family afterwards. So, we just kind of thought, 'How cute would it be if we're able to every year go bowling on that anniversary?'" Joey said, adding that it's "a little wink wink to our not-so-anniversary," since they consider their Spain “I do’s” their official anniversary date. "Uglies" hits Netflix on Sept. 13.
