Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan arrested during court appearance

Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan has been arrested by security forces in Islamabad. He was detained as he was appearing at the High Court. Officers dragged the politician out of the court and whisked him away in an armoured vehicle. Mr Khan's PTI party has denounced the arrest as an "abduction". The police said Mr Khan's arrest was in connection to a graft case. Meanwhile, the police have fired water cannons and tear gas to quell protests that have erupted across the country following Mr Khan's arrest.
