Long-term decline: The marriage rate has been declining since the 1970s, with a 60% drop from 1970 to 2018.
Recent decline: The marriage rate dropped 6% from 2017 to 2018, reaching a low of 6.5 per 1,000 people.

Statistics: Olympics
Viewership
The opening ceremony was watched by 28.6 million viewers in the United States on NBC and Peacock, making it the most-watched opening ceremony for an Olympic Games since 2012.
Attendance
326,000 spectators were on the banks of the Seine, with 222,000 free ticket holders and 104,000 paying ticket holders.
Security
The opening ceremony was the largest security operation in France since the end of World War II. 45,000 security officers were stationed in Paris, including over 2,000 foreign police.

Statistics: DEI
Is DEI the problem?
Some members of Congress have blamed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives as one of the contributing factors to the Secret Service's failures. The Secret Service does have a DEI program, but women are still the minority in the agency. 24% of the agency is women and 76% is men.

The Secret Service has said they’re aiming to have at least 30% of the force be made up of women by 2030.

But there’s no measurable evidence these security failures happened as a result of DEI. Similar complaints with the agency have been happening since 2014 before the DEI programs were even instituted and fewer women made up the force.:
