A morning well spent at the Santa Special adapted for Children and Adults with Special needs. We would highly recommend this event to others, we all enjoyed it. The staff were all amazing!



The Santa Special was pulled by BR 47298.
47298 was built and entered into service in 1924 as LMS 7138, it cost £3,168 to build.
In 1935 it was renumbered 7298. After the nationalisation of the railway in 1948, it was re numbered BR 47298.
This steam locomotive belongs to a class known as 'Jinty'.
In 1983 whilst at Llangollen Railway, 47298 was painted blue and ran as Thomas the tank engine.
47298 is currently privately owned.
