"Korset" is a well-known place in Gruveåsen by the Korsveien from Funkelia to Saxony. From Korset there is a great view of the city. According to tradition, King Christian Kvart rested here during his visit in the spring of 1624, after occupying his new silver mine. Legend has it that, during lunch here, the king designated the location for the mountain city he wanted to build: "There shall the city lie!". What we do know is that he decided in a letter from Akershus on 2 May 1624 that the town should be called "Konningsberg". Today, the memorial set up in 1960 dominates, but just below there is a cultural monument from the Silver Works' first years, the "Breakfast Stone".

The King's Mine (Kongens gruve) was the largest mine at Kongsberg. The operation of the plant reached its peak in the 1770s when over 4,000 people were directly involved in the production. The 1750s, 1760s and 1770s were the heyday of the silverworks. Significant new ore discoveries were made, especially in the 1830s and 1860s. The particularly rich King's mine was operated to a depth of over 1,000 meters. The plant extracted silver right up until the closure in 1957.

Gottes Hülfe in der Noth (God's help in times of need), is the Silver Works' second largest mine. Discovered in 1654, and was in operation for various periods until it was closed down in 1956. In total, 400 tonnes of silver have been extracted. Gottes Hülfe in der Noth and Kongens mine together accounted for 75% of all the silver that was taken out at Kongsberg silver works. The main shaft is 786 meters deep (336 meters up to the surface and 450 meters down to the bottom).

Kronene i Håvet is a group of royal monograms in a rock wall on Kongsberg. In June 1704, the then King Frederik IV visited Kongsberg, and started a custom that is alive to this day; to carve the royal monograms into "Håvet". King Frederik also carved monograms from previous royal visits.
The first monogram on the mountain side obviously belongs to Christian IV who in 1624 wanted to take a closer look at the newly discovered silver deposits and then founded Kongsberg. This is followed by Frederik III (1648) and Christian V (1685). After Frederik IV, Christian VI and his queen Sofie Magdalene follow, as the only queen, (1733), Frederik V (1749), Oscar I (1845), Oscar II (1890), Haakon VII (1908), Olav V (1962) and finally Harald V (1995).
