Usually native to the Shadowfell, Shadow dragons are sly and devious. They are instinctively cunning and are not prone to taking risks. They appear translucent, thanks to their unusual scales, and at a distance, appear like a mass of shadows. I talk about the Shadow Dragon as a True Dragon type, and it's latest incarnation as a Template applied to mutated dragons.
