Making leather mugs. Jack mugs a sturdy historic drinking vessel.

Описание к видео Making leather mugs. Jack mugs a sturdy historic drinking vessel.

After a recent encounter of the medieval kind with the SCA I remembered that I haven't made any of these in a while. So I pulled out the pattern and put together a couple of Jack mugs. Mugs or tankards like these made from leather did exist historically. Because of their durability they were particularly used in English taverns and the American colonies.

If you would like to buy a kit with the pattern and the form that I use to make these mugs, please see my Etsy store at https://bransonsgeneralstore.etsy.com...

If you would like to buy just the pattern, it is available at https://bransonsgeneralstore.etsy.com.... The original form I use to shape the mug started out a a 3" PVC hub adapter that I used a rasp and sander to remove any protruding parts from. You can purchase one through amazon if you cannot find one at a local hardware store. https://amzn.to/3uITOEF (Amazon affiliate link)

I am always working on building something and try to average a YouTube video once a week. Most often leather work, but I have also posted videos on black smithing, knife making, casting, and even how I make soap. Be sure to Subscribe if you are interested in any of these topics, or just making things in general.
