What other methods have you used to improve your legato technique?

Playing with a good legato touch involves many aspects such as the way you listen to the notes connection.This video covers a method of approaching the physical side of a legato touch.

Sometimes, it can be difficult to understand the transfer of weight or depth of touch required for a good legato touch when you're playing on the piano because it doesn't give you detailed enough feedback. It can sometimes feel like you're playing on a table top. This is why I find practicing your touch on your lap/arm because it gives you a great deal of detail. You get the feedback of your touch from the finger's perspective and from the key's perspective (your lap/arm).
