Shani Dev Temple at Shingnapur near Shirdi. recently constructed a eye-catching big Tower for Shani Dev with Mandapas for other eight Navagrahas.

The Shani Shingnapur temple, a "Jagrut devasthan" (alive temple), houses a Swayambhu (self-manifested) Shani Dev idol, a black stone believed to have emerged from the earth, and is known for the village's unique tradition of having no doors or locks due to the belief in Shani Dev's protection

The presiding deity is present in a platform, staged in the open air. The huge black rock statue measuring about five and half feet tall, is said to be a self-manifested one. There is no shelter for the presiding deity and there is no priest assigned to do the poojas. The devotees themselves can do the anointing and poojas for the deity. And the people in the village Shingnapur strongly believe that Lord Shani Dev protects them all the time. So, there is no doors for the houses in the temple and people don’t have any safety vaults to keep their valuables.

Bull Carting
The path to Shingnapur village is covered with sugarcane fields and locals use bulls to extract juice from the sugarcane, instead of machines. These type of juice extraction centres are known as Rasavanti
