5 alpha reductase enzyme deficiency is a genetic disorder of sex development in which a protein / enzyme called 5 alpha reductase is either deficient OR Absent. It is a rare condition with karyotype of 46 XY.
The etiology of 5 alpha reductase enzyme deficiency include deficiency of 5 alpha reductase, increased Testosterone but no Dihydrotestosterone. This condition is treated by appropriate patient education.
