To commemorate the 4th anniversary of my channel, I present to you Miriam's Gift! It was a film that I worked on with a group of other youths at the Phoenix Youth Centre in Bordon tasked with making an animated film about the MOD (Military Of Defence). During Spring and Summer of 2013, Hampshire County Council created a film festival based on military forces and they worked with the groups making their films.

There were three areas in Hampshire where the students were making their films - Fareham & Gosport were working on the Royal Navy, Bordon & East Hampshire (where I was working) did the Bordon Garrison, and Aldershot & Farnborough worked with the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment.

From what I can remember on making the film, I animated the very first scene of the film (the one with the opening doors). I also created the older version of Zack and animated the scene where you see a close up of his mouth.

The award ceremony for the film festival took place in Portsmouth. Literally everyone who was involved with their films in their locations came to Portsmouth for the event. The ceremony showed all our films that we worked on and then the awards were given out.

Again, from what I can remember, we won an award for something related to the MOD. I can’t remember what for, whether it’s for research or something else but we won that award anyway. I was nominated for Best Illustrator but, honestly, I don’t remember my drawings being used for our film. If I was nominated for Best Illustrator, then fine.

But then came the announcement of the two big awards - the Critic’s Choice and the Audience’s Choice. We won them both! That was extremely unexpected from any of us! We couldn’t believe it! Not the fact that we’ve won at least one of those awards, but BOTH of them! We were so happy!
