Tasmania Road Trip Part 2 - East Coast Tasmania

It was time to leave the Tasman Peninsula and head North along the East coast of Tasmania.

First stop..................wine glass........ yeah on the way we saw a lovely winery called Devils Corner and couldn't resist popping in and grabbing a cold bottle of Tassie Sparkling to enjoy later.

Stop 2, you guessed it, Winegalss Bay! We pulled into Freycinet National park and headed straight up to Cape Tourville Lighthouse where we saw our very first glimpse of Wineglass Bay. This walk around the lighthouse is short but spectacular and would be amazing in whale season!

Then we headed off to check out our accommodation, we stayed in a cabin at the big 4 Freycinet Caravan Park. It was lovely and modern and in a great spot! We went for a sunset stroll to Honeymoon bay then cracked into that Tassie sparkling we picked up on our travels. We had an early morning adventure planned so off to bed we went.

We got up before the sun and headed off to tackle Mt Amos summit. This is a HARD hike but so worth it! One of the best views we have ever seen! After the hike we made a quick stop into the visitor center with the weirdest sad fish chair (was it a chair?) and checked out Sleepy Bay followed by an afternoon of treating ourselves to more wine at Devils Corner and Cragie Knowe as well as enjoying a cheeky icecream to replace all the calories we burnt hiking.

We decided to do another sunrise mission to get one more look at Wineglass Bay before we headed further north so decided to do the Wineglass Bay lookout walk which is a great short walk if you're not into scaling cliff faces.

We enjoyed chicken and camembert pies at Bicheno on our way to check out the stunning orange rocks at the Gardens in Bay of Fires. The orange rocks and the turquoise waters of Bay of fires were incredible!

Before we knew it the sun was setting and another amazing day in Tasmania had come to an end.
