What happens when two strangers from opposite sides of the World decide to walk the entire length of Vietnam - 2,000 kilometres on foot - for charity?

Jake Norris (Australia) and Sean Down (Ireland) set out on a mission from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, carrying nothing but backpacks and purpose. With no support crew, limited supplies, and thousands of kilometres of unknown terrain ahead, they took the first step of what would become the adventure and challenge of a lifetime.

Over two months, they faced scorching heat, sudden monsoonal downpours, steep mountain passes, long days of walking up to 75km, language barriers and remote villages. Yet, what they gained was far greater; from stunning landscapes of misty rice terraces and coastal highways, to connections with locals who offered food, beds, and encouragement, and stories from communities impacted by poverty and exploitation.

Their walk wasn’t just a physical feat, but a powerful movement for children in crisis. Together, raising $50,000USD for two incredible charities in Vietnam; the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, who rescue kids from trafficking and provide education and the Thanh Loc Project, who support vulnerable youth in the rural Mekong.

Along the way, they were joined by fellow friendly walkers, hosted by kind strangers, and supported by the Irish and Australian Embassies, friends, family, and a global online community cheering them on with every step.
