RoboKiller iPhone App: Is This Up And Up With Its Pricing?

Описание к видео RoboKiller iPhone App: Is This Up And Up With Its Pricing?

If you regularly watch NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, you probably came across Jeff Rossen’s Reports on “Robocall Scams” last Wednesday night, October 31, 2018. It caught my attention since I get some of these unwanted calls on my cell phone. I went to the iPhone App Store and downloaded the App. When the download finished, I opened the App to see how it works. Sad to say, the activation failed 5 times. By the way, for Privacy Protection, I blurred my Phone Number in this video.

I should have stopped from there since it didn’t work the first time I downloaded it. Instead, I gave it a second chance by getting more information about it. Using my desktop, I went to iTunes and found some confusing information about its App’s Pricing which prompted me to post this video.

An hour later after the activation failed, I opened the App again to see if the activation will work this time. At first it gave me a Session Expired message. I clicked continue and it took me to the Verification Section. I typed in my phone number and clicked continue. It gave me a verification code to type in. After typing the code, it took me to the Trial Membership Section with 2 choices of membership fees. The first one is a 12 Month one week free for $6.92 per month. The second one is more like an extended trial which is a 1 month one week free for $9.99 per month. This is nowhere close to what Jeff Rossen mentioned as a monthly price for the App at NBC Nightly News towards the end of the report. According to Jeff Rossen, the App cost $3.99 a month.

TV exposure gives you an opportunity of reaching a bigger audience who would try your product. In any business, product pricing plays a major role in its success. People will respond to your product positively if you stick with the price that what was announced. This confusing pricing is the very reason why I decided not to take the offer. I deleted it. I think I am better off not answering my phone when I see unfamiliar phone number in my caller ID. If the caller is legit, he or she will leave a message.
