Whilst it aims to tackle violent crime, knife crime, gun enabled crime, and drug related offences through stopping persons at will, it is not without its problems for those who are the targets of it. Police stop and search and the use of force by police was highlighted by former British 100 metre Olympian Linford Christie the coach of British sprinter Bianca Williams and her partner, Portuguese 400m record holder Ricardo dos Santos, who were stopped searched in a black Mercedes in West London in which they believed they were racially profiled. Police must be held accountable for every action that they make whilst performing the difficult job of policing in order for all citizens to be treated fairly.
