This Video will share the General concepts for learning CPR, a life-saving skill. I will talk about how a healthy body functions, what is cardiac arrest, and how does CPR work.

The Function of the Healthy Body: The heart pumps blood through the lungs, where blood takes in oxygen. This oxygen-rich blood then returns to the heart, where it is pumped out to vital organs – the brain – and the rest of the body and keeps us alive.

Cardiac Arrest: Cardiac means heart and arrest mean stop. When the heart stops, it is known as cardiac arrest. It is a condition when the blood stops flowing. The common causes of cardiac arrests are a few H’s & T’s:

How does CPR work: Chest Compression: Direct compression of the heart between the chest bone and spine causes forward blood flow from the heart.
Breathing: Mouth-to-mouth breathing is beneficial in delivering oxygen to the patient’s lungs.

college in Haryana. After acquiring the MD in Anaesthesiology & ICU from PGIMER Chandigarh, one of India’s premier medical research institutes, he completed his residency. During the residency period, he provided superior care and consultation under worthy seniors’ supervision, resulting in an overall improvement of the department’s patient satisfaction quotients. Self-inspiration and motivation lead him to acclaim DNB and MNAMS not only for self-satisfaction but also for the medical profession’s betterment. He is having the life membership of various Medical associations viz. IMA, ISA, ICA, IJOA, and JACP, etc.
He has more than 20 years of experience working in the Perioperative Area and ICU to manage critically ill patients. During this tenure, he was contributed to the fastest recovery of the patients. He was involved in broadening the horizons of doctors, nurses, and OT assistants by improving their life-saving skills.
He currently has more than 20 publications, out of which 16 were
published in International Journals and others in National Journals. He is the Co-Author of the booklet on Back Care published by the Department of Pain Clinic, PGIMER Chandigarh. He played a vital role in developing the protective systems for monitoring cables of the anesthesia workstation.
He is also one of the three members of a team who developed a low cost
ventilator for Covid patients under the Government Funded Project.
Rotary Vocational Services Award decorates his medical career for
Ethical Practices in the field of Medicine.
He is certified in Research Methodology and Biostatistics at PGIMER,
Chandigarh. He is a founder member of the north zone ethics committee.
He is a certified Palliative Medicine Specialist.
He is a practitioner of Pain Clinic and serving humanity by
mitigating their pain.
