Prototype-I: Iron removal unit (350 L/h) designed and developed by Prof Purkait as a part of DRDO sponsored project. 80 such units are installed by Defense research laboratory (DRDO), Tezpur in different districts of Assam state.
Prototype-II: Household unit of 10 L capacity for the treatment of Iron, Arsenic and Fluoride based on adsorption technique.
Prototype-III: Household units (10 L, 20 L, 30 L capacity) for the treatment of Iron, Arsenic, Fluoride and microorganism based on electrocoagulation technique.
Prof M K Purkait has patented an electrocoagulation based water treatment technology and installed various capacity units in and around the IIT Guwahati adjacent areas.
