Romy (Romana) Sigl is the founder of Coworking Salzburg, the first co-working space in Salzburg, Austria. Coworking Salzburg is a network and physical space that rents desks to entrepreneurs and small business owners in the region, and provides childcare support for coworkers and working parents. Coworking Salzburg also functions as an event space, and organizes networking events for individuals associated with the company. She attended the University of Applied Sciences and has a degree in Building Constructions. As the founder of Coworking Salzburg, Romy believes in bringing together innovative thinkers to solve problems facing society. For bridging Europe with the MENA (middle east north africa) region she developed an event format called „Coworking Camps“ where like minded Entrepreneurs gather (e.g. in Egypt) for a week, to work on their ideas with the intent to support each other.

For empowering Startups in Salzburg she choose to be part of the local initative "Startup Salzburg" - the weekend is part of this program.

She also recognizes that as more and more refugees are coming to Austria many will in fact choose to stay. Some of the recent immigrants are highly skilled people which in turn creates resentment from many Austrians. Ms. Sigl wants to set up a series of events e.g. hackathons, where startups from the Salzburg state are aware of these qualified and skilled immigrants who can become an asset to their teams.
