You can beat most enemies that are 6-8 levels above you. Fergal is level 18 here. There is a small window to use the claws before using the bite attack. This allow you to use the claws again immediately after bite is done, because the cooldown happens during the bite. He has immunities to regular melee and shadow attacks.
