Broken wheat with chickpeas- Also known as Dalia with kabuli chana recipe. This is a very simple and healthy dish for breakfast/lunch/dinner and can be cooked often for people who are on diet or weight loss program. Dalia/Broken wheat is highly nutritious as cholestrol is almost zero and has extremely less amount of fat content.
Chickpeas is high in protein content.

--Ingredients

Chickpeas/Kabuli chana 1 cup
Broken wheat/ Dalia 1 cup
Water 4 cup
Ginger 10g
Garlic 10g
Green peas ⅓ cup
Onion 80g
Oil 3 tbsp(as required)
Fresh tomato puree ½ cup
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp

--Instruction

--Boiling Chickpeas

Take a vessel and add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
Add washed chickpeas and boil for approx. 25 minutes.
Once the chickpeas are cooked, strain and keep aside.

--Boiling Broken wheat/Dalia

Take a vessel, add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
Add broken wheat/dalia and cook for 20 minutes, or wait until the dalia is fully cooked.
Once, the broken wheat is cooked then strain out the excess water and keep aside.

--Fry Chickpeas

Take a non-stick pan, once the pan is hot, add 1 tbsp oil.
Once the oil is hot, add boiled chickpeas, red chilli powder, salt and saute for 2 to 4 minutes.
Once, the chickpeas changes colour, then tranfer to a bowl and keep aside.

--Final preparation

Take a non-stick pan, once the pan is hot, pour 2 tbsp oil.
Once the oil is hot, add chopped ginger and garlic and saute for a minute.
Add chopped onion, green peas and saute for another minute.
Add fresh tomato puree, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and saute.
Once the oil starts separating, add cooked dalia and fried chickpeas and mix well.
A healthy breakfast/lunch/dinner is ready!!
Serve hot!!
