On the 4th August 2014, the 2 & 3 wheeled community came together at the historic Shoreham Fort between 20:30 and 21:30.

At 21:55, 139 riders all shone their main beam headlights towards the lighthouse providing a beacon like illumination over Shoreham that was seen from the site of the old WW1 barracks and training trenches on the South Downs.

At exactly 22:00 the headlights were extinguished, as were a great many others the length and breadth of our great country. The Queen's Jubilee beacon was then lit by Johnathan Lucas, the High Sheriff of West Sussex.

A short service took place followed by time for reflection before extinguishing the beacon at 23:00 and closing the event.

A total of £846.60 was raised for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
