Stranded in no man's land
I've been walking on tip-toe through the sand
even with the full moon it was too dark so that
no one could have seen my footsteps in the sand

So I walked and walked and walked the endless way
through the desert looking for the bay
the only sign I had was the full moon
shining from above like a bright, yellow balloon

Been down dressed in a coat
was trying to catch the boat
when I reached the riverside
the boat has left into the night

Followed from the dark my inner calls
walking through the desert on my wounded soles
pricked and hurted by stones and animals
but there's always a way to carry on

So I dragged myself through this lonesome land
bloody and freezing blue in the cold sand
and on the lowest point I asked myself

„is it better to burn or to freeze to death?“
