Odisha Govt Buildings to Turn Saffron // Two Men Win 2024 Nobel Prize in Medicine

Odisha’s public buildings are set to adopt a saffron color scheme, marking a significant change under the Bharatiya Janata Party’s first solo administration in the state. This new orange hue will replace the green associated with the Biju Janata Dal’s tenure. On October 7, 2024, the Odisha Works Department announced a standardised colour code for all government buildings, specifying orange for the exterior walls and red for the borders.
Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun have been jointly honored with the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physiology, as announced by the Nobel Academy at the Karolinska Institutet on October 7, 2024. They received this prestigious award for their groundbreaking discovery of microRNA and its significant role in post-transcriptional gene regulation. The Nobel Assembly highlighted that Ambros and Ruvkun’s research focused on the development of different cell types, leading to the identification of microRNA, a new class of small RNA molecules essential for gene regulation.
