Decrypting Enigma messages from the Enigma News Feed

Описание к видео Decrypting Enigma messages from the Enigma News Feed

The Enigma was the most widespread German cipher machine during World War II. The key settings were changed daily and every new day, the British side had to break the received messages.

This video shows how to decrypt a received Enigma message, when the daily key settings are already known, which was the case on the German side.

This video uses example messages from my daily Enigma News Feed, which can be found on my website:
https://jepu.info/enigmanews/

There you can find new Enigma messages updated at least every hour and with new key settings every day, like it was in the original. In the English version of the Enigma News Feed, a plain text word is given as a crib below every message. This can be used for breaking the code. There is also a link with a crib analysis for the first steps for analysing the ciphertext, like they did at Bletchley Park.
