Camping Trip at Molas Lake near Silverton, CO

Recently my husband and I went camping at Molas Lake near Silverton, Colorado. We cleaned up and packed up my work van to camp in, and headed up into the mountains. When we got there, we set up the van for sleep and enjoyed the fresh mountain air with gorgeous views. For dinner, we had hamburgers, which Tyler cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed s'mores by the campfire.

At Molas Lake, you can rent various watercraft such as stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boards, and rowboats. The lake is stocked with plenty of fish for fishing enthusiasts, but a proper fishing license is required. The lake is open for both campers and day visitors. Segment 24 of the Colorado Trail runs alongside Molas Lake, making it an excellent resupply point or a great place for a hike during your camping trip. Just a short drive away, you can access many other trails if you're interested in more hiking while camping at Molas Lake Campground. The campground offers 58 spaces with prices ranging from $25 to $35 per night, with holiday rates in effect. There is no running water or electricity at the campsites, but there are vault-style toilets available for campers. In the office area, free potable water is available, and hot showers are offered for a fee.
