Hunua Falls | Hunua, New Zealand

Our trip to one of New Zealand’s must-see horsetail waterfalls – The Hunua Falls. Located in the Hunua Ranges Regional Park in the rural outskirts of southern part of Auckland, Hunua Falls cascades 30 metres on Wairoa River and has an average water flow rate of 2.6 cubic metres but varies depending on the season. The waterfall is surrounded by luxuriant forest of various plant types and home to some native birds. Hunua Falls was a choice film location for some episodes of the television series Xena: Warrior Princess and had a cameo appearance in the comedy movie Without a Paddle.
