This is an up-to-date Blog and has not been seen elsewhere. And I shot it as a completely impromptu exercise in Taff's Well in December 2023.

I was travelling down the core valley lines, i have my selfie stick and wireless microphones in my bag (as I always do) and there was a story that I felt was worth telling........

The valley lines are undergoing a complete transformation - electrification., resignalling, capacity improvements, new tram-trains and more. I meet with Transport for Wales and Amey Infrastructure Wales regularly to ensure that Network Rail plays it's part, albeit small, in the transformation of the railway services on the Core Valleys network.

It was great to visit the new control and signalling floor. Also to see the depot being built and a number of tram-trains already delivered (and they are on test now).

In this blog, i also thank colleagues who have recently concluded a number of Network Rail projects on the route and have cut in some cab ride footage of the first train to travel over the new track at Barmouth Toll House and the new Barmouth Viaduct.
