In this video we visit the home of Velvet, the famous Shetland pony and her mother Fortune. Both horses were in need of a full trim and also a quick foot health check as we do with every horse we meet and see!

Velvet is only 20” tall at 6 months old, and potentially one of the smallest horses in the world! Both Velvet and her mother Fortune are an absolute pleasure to treat and look after, both sharing a great temperament a joy to be around.

Shoeing horses this small can be quite challenging, especially Velvet who seems to make it look like we’re using giant tools! We take extra care with the tiny feet, and be as gentle as possible to make these miniature horses feel at ease.
