PART 1 - Honda Dominator NX 650 1988 restoration. Rust removal method

After falling in love with Paris Dakar and the adventure bikes from the 80s - although the dommie was never in Paris Darkar- I decided to buy a project bike. The dommie came up, and the offer was too hard not to get so she is home now.

I could’ve gone for the brat look. Chop everything and that’s that. But I want to restore this bike and improve things that should’ve been done in the first place. I’ll start with a new screen as I always thought that the dommie has so much potential but something is missing from the front end—a bit like your favourite actor but eyebrows.

Not sure why but when I look at this bike, it instantly takes me back in time, like a time capsule, back to the good old days.

I think I’m going to name it “THE RED HORSE”
