The Dutch American Friendship Treaty visa (or DAFT visa) is a very easy way for US entrepreneurs, business owners and freelancers to settle in the Netherlands. They only need to open a Dutch company, deposit € 4,500 in the company bank account, and meet very modest income criteria. 1099 work for US clients is available under DAFT from the Netherlands. You will still use the 1099, and provide your clients with a W9 including the Dutch company registration number.
