Charlie Lucas | Centennial Oral Histories

Charlie Lucas, grandson of Mary Duke Biddle Trent Semans and great great grandson of Benjamin N. Duke, today serves as chair of The Duke Endowment. In this interview, he shares the story of the Duke family and talks about his commitment to continue the family’s legacy of service and giving.

Centennial Oral Histories
Duke University’s Centennial Oral Histories Program includes one-hour videotaped interviews with former and current leaders of Duke University and Duke Health, during which they share memories of their time at Duke and their hopes for Duke’s future. The videos will be archived in Duke’s Archives as a permanent record and enduring legacy from Duke’s 100th anniversary.
