Dr. Sarah Habib is just finishing her graduate degree in physics at Caltech. She just defended her PhD last month and is now continuing her research at Caltech this fall. The central theme of her research is computational modeling of compact objects like black holes, and how they interact with the spacetime and matter around them. In particular, she works on these numerical relativity simulations to better predict the gravitational wave signatures that result from black holes as they merge together.
