DIY Volvo Power Steering Pump Controller and Camaro Drifting

Описание к видео DIY Volvo Power Steering Pump Controller and Camaro Drifting

This video goes through how I made a CAN bus controller for an electric Volvo power steering pump and put it in my drift Camaro. Then we have some drone footage from Spirit Peaks Raceway at the end.

Please note that I made a mistake in the video regarding the power steering rack lines. It should be that the 16mm (top port on the rack) is the return line and the 18mm (bottom port on the rack) is the high pressure. The diagram in the Github repo has been updated to show the correct information.

I also had issues with the controller working unreliably due to the MCP2515 board not getting enough voltage. It needs at least 4.75V to operate and the Nano would sometimes output below that threshold. I now recommend powering the MCP2515 directly from the 12-5V converter rather than from the Arduino as shown in this video.

Correction: 4:50 The high and low pressure fittings should be switched, M16 for high and M18 for low. The diagram linked in the description is updated to show this correctly.

Correction: 9:30 Links for other people's code I used to create this script is in description
